2015 Year in Review

Whew! It’s 2016 already, which means it’s (past) time for our 2015 year in review! During the year 2015, we published nine novels: Flashback by Simon Rose; City of Masks by Kevin Harkness; Unguilded by Jane Glatt; Much Ado about Macbeth by Randy McCharles; Dark Beneath the Moon by Sherry D. Ramsey; Maddie Hatter and the Deadly Diamond by Jayne Barnard; The Grotesques by Tia Reed; and Drowning in Amber by E.C. Bell. (Wait!, you might be saying, that’s only eight! Number nine is detailed below in the third paragraph, if you can’t wait.) Within those books, three new series debuted (Flashback, Mage Guild, and Maddie Hatter), additional installments were added to three other series (City of Masks, sequel to City of Demons; Dark Beneath the Moon, sequel to One’s Aspect to the Sun; and Drowning in Amber, second in the Marie Jenner series), and two stand-alone novels. Under our Cornucopia imprint, we published one additional novel (making for a total of nine novels), exclusive to our Spells & Spirits box set: Furr by Axel Howerton. Also under the Cornucopia imprint, we released 3 box sets: Gods & Dragons; Spells & Spirits; and Gods & Heroes. We’ve added three books to our audiobook list. More are in post-production, so stay tuned for future audiobook releases! A complete list of our audiobooks can be found on audible. On the awards front, artist James F. Beveridge was nominated for a Prix Aurora Award for his cover of Tantamount. E.C. Bell’s novel, Seeing the Light, won Best Speculative Fiction of the year in the BPAA awards. We attended six conventions this year: Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo; When Words Collide; Edmonton Comic & Entertainment Expo; Pure Spec; Can*Con; and SFContario. It was great fun, and look forward to attending these and more in 2016! Finally, no retrospective would be complete without a nod to our cover and interior artists: Wiktoria Goc, cover (Flashback) Galen Dara, cover and interior (City of Masks) Niken Anindita, cover (Unguilded) Stephan Lorenz, cover (Much Ado about Macbeth) Ashley Walters, cover (Dark Beneath the Moon) Robin Kaplan, cover and interior (Maddie Hatter and the Deadly Diamond) H. Leighton Dickson, cover (The Grotesques) Guillem Marí, cover (Drowning in Amber)   It has been a wonderful year for us! Here’s to a joyous and prosperous New Year!
